CALL FOR PAPERS

Now accepting proposals for the 88th Annual Meeting of the Association of Lutheran College Faculties (ALCF). In an attempt to appeal to a broad and inclusive academic audience, we invite faculty, staff, and student collaborators to reflect on the topic of teaching vocational exploration from a wide variety of perspectives:
Closing the Purpose Gap: Centering the vocational journey of historically marginalized students
Vocation in community: stories of ancestors and elders
Revitalizing the Humanities through vocation
Vocation in Community: How do we create caring communities? Teaching vocational exploration as a path toward social justice Teaching vocation within the context of a discipline (History, Health
Professions, Natural Sciences, Business, Music, Education, Math, Art, English, Languages)
Christian approaches to vocation Luther on vocation: Still valuable? Interfaith teaching on vocation Spirituality and Vocation

To submit a proposal, please complete the ALCF Proposal Submission Form.
If accepted, you should prepare a paper of about five double-spaced pages. These will be linked in the Proceedings of the Conference. Oral presentations at the conference will be 20 minutes each (please include time for questions) and be organized into several concurrent sessions. Roundtable discussions and workshops may be between 30-45 minutes.
Proposals are due by August 1, 2023.
